Working in three dimensions
Simmetry 3d lets you not only see your landscape, but also alter your landscapes interactively. No longer work in a plan view with contours or spot heights; import your data into Simmetry 3d and view the terrain with that extra dimension.
Import data
Each Simmetry 3d project contains a landscape model that can be created from a variety of sources, or manually created using the landscape sculpting tools in Simmetry 3d.
You can overlay satellite images, map images or aerial photography on to your landscape model, or use Simmetry 3d to create realistic ground textures.
Preview design concepts
Once inside a Simmetry 3d project, the landform model can be manipulated interactively using the terrain sculpting tools. This lets you visualise instantly how your different ideas for landscape change will affect the existing surroundings. Work directly with Contours
Import contour information and generate three dimensional terrain models with only a couple of mouse clicks. Once the landform model is generated, quickly modify the the terrain with the terrain sculpting tools or modifying the contours directly. Simmetry 3d can also generate contours from a terrain model for export.
Cut and Fill calculation
Simmetry 3d makes cut and fill calculations quick and easy. Simply take a snapshot of your imported terrain and compare this with the modified versions to calculate the amount of material that has been added or removed.
Create terrain cross sections
Simmetry 3d provides a simple way to create cross sections of landform.
Preview the effect of light and shadows
Once object and landform have been assembled it is possible to simulate the position of the sun and see how the light and shadows affect the environment.
Communicate ideas to clients
Simmetry 3d allows the user to produce highly distinctive and visually rich demonstrations of design concepts that can then be easily communicated to clients, who may not so easily gather the same information from a two dimensional plan.
Export Data
Data created inside of a Simmetry 3d project may also useful elsewhere in your design process and you have access to this data through a range of export functions. Be it contour information for CAD work or 3d models for rendering still images, Simmetry 3d can output information from your projects that can then be accessed in other design software packages.
